Out of this world

“Explore a range of imaginings that have provoked hopes and dreams, exhilaration and fear – and see how science fiction has influenced scientific discovery.” BL

One of the exhibition highlights for me were seeing Thomas More’s, Utopia (1516). There was an excellent talk as part of the accompanying events programme which had a line up of science fiction writers, I attended the Iain Banks talk on Visions of Utopia. The only annoyance came during the Q&A session when members of the audience were more interested in expressing their own opinions on society as apposed to asking the panel questions about the topics covered in their writings and in the exhibition – get a blog!
